Ojars Kalnins told me that I should try to understand Latvian history. This animation movie is very helpful for beginners:
«The Latvian»
The next animation with the amazing «Avārijas brigāde» (trouble crew) allows you to have a look at the parliament. Watch more «Avārijas brigādes» movies and your day will be saved...
Avārijas brigāde - Parliament
peteris has written a comment that I should watch three classic animation movies. Thanks, peteris! Well, have a look on what I found:
About all the classic animation movies from Latvia
A fantastic animation archive! The favourite ones peteris mentioned are «Kabata» (pocket), «Laimes lācis» (bear of fortune) un «Suns Funs un vējš» (dog Funs and the wind).

Interview with Ojars Kalnins
If someone knows what it means to be Latvian, it will be the director of the Latvian Institute, an organization whose purpose it is to inform about Latvian culture, identity, and society: Ojars Kalnins.
During a recent interview, Ojars Kalnins told me what's Latvian, and also told about a few things that are not. And he gave me some starting points what I might need to do in order to become Latvian. One thing I have to do for sure is to go pick mushrooms. Sure thing!
To switch on English or German subtitles, start the video; then click the triangle icon in the bottom right corner of the video frame; and select the desired subtitles from the second icon from below (a red shape with two white lines).
